PK Tip: Searching in Articles That Have Attachments
In Personal Knowbase, you can easily run a query that looks only at articles with attachments, since the Build Query command includes an Attachments button for excluding articles without them.
But what if you want to search for a text string using a search range of only articles with attachments? Since the Find operation doesn't have a built-in option for a Search Range limited to articles with attachments, it's a 2-step process:
First, select the Show Articles with Attachments command from the Article menu. This displays only the articles that have attachments in the Titles column of the Index Window.
Second, run the Find command from the Edit menu. Set the Search Range to Selected Articles to limit the search to only the currently listed articles. Click the Find button to search.
This Selected Articles range option is very versatile. By manipulating the current list of Selected articles (using keywords, queries, or even previous Find results), you can limit your search to any set of articles.
