Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts allow you to perform common commands without using the mouse. The following general shortcuts are available:

Creates a new Personal Knowbase data file.

 

 

New Command (File Menu)

 

Ctrl+O

 

Opens an existing data file.

 

 

Open Command (File Menu)

 

Ctrl+S

 

Saves all changes made to the current file.

 

 

Save File Command (File Menu)

 

Ctrl+P

 

Prints a series of articles or a report.

 

 

Print Command (File Menu)

 

Ctrl+Z

 

Reverses the last change made.

 

 

Undo Command (Edit Menu)

 

Ctrl+X

 

Cuts the current selection to the Clipboard.

 

 

Cut Command (Edit Menu)

 

Ctrl+C

 

Copies the current selection to the Clipboard.

 

 

Copy Command (Edit Menu)

 

Ctrl+V

 

Pastes the contents of the Clipboard.

 

 

Paste Command (Edit Menu)

 

Del

 

Deletes the current selection.

 

 

Delete Command (Edit Menu)

 

Ctrl+A

 

Selects everything in the current window area.

 

 

Select All Command (Edit Menu)

 

Ctrl+Q

 

Finds articles associated with a specified combination of keywords.

 

 

Build Query Command (Edit Menu)

 

Ctrl+F

 

Searches articles for a specified text string or dates.

 

 

Find Command (Edit Menu)

 

Ctrl+H

 

Searches for a string, allowing you to replace it.

 

 

Replace Command (Edit Menu)

 

F9

 

Switches the Index Mode between All and Related modes.

 

 

Index Mode Command (View Menu)

 

F8

 

Cycles through the 4 settings for the preview pane.

 

 

Preview Pane Command (View Menu)

 

Ctrl+1

 

Creates a new article.

 

 

New Article Command (Article Menu)

 

F5

 

Opens files and URLs attached to the current article.

 

 

Open Attachments Command (Article Menu)

 

Ctrl+T

 

Bookmarks (or unbookmarks) the current article.

 

 

Bookmark Article Command (Article Menu)

 

Ctrl+F6

 

Moves to the next Index, Article, or report window.

 

 

 

Ctrl+Tab

 

Moves to the next Index, Article, or report window.

 

 

 

Alt+Up Arrow

 

Displays the previous article from the current list of articles in the Index Window.

 

 

Browse Toolbar

 

Alt+Down Arrow

 

Displays the next article from the current list of articles in the Index Window.
