Export Dialog Box

Glossary  Return to Start

Exports Personal Knowbase articles or a report to an ASCII text file, RTF file, HTML file, Cardfile, another Knowbase file, or CSV formatted file. Select the Save button to export the file. Select Cancel to not export a file.

If articles are exported to a text, RTF, HTML, or CSV file, the file may contain the title, date, keywords, and content for all specified articles.

An exported HTML file consists of your articles and a "Table of Contents" area with links to each article. Internet addresses (URLs) in the articles are automatically converted to Web links.

If articles are exported to a Personal Knowbase file, the articles in the specified range are used to create a new Knowbase file. All keywords assigned to those articles are also exported. If private articles are exported, the new file has the same password as the original file. Other file elements are not exported, including keyword groups, reminders, and File Properties.

If articles are exported to Cardfile format, each card contains a separate article's title and content only. Note that Cardfile may only be able to display a portion of long articles.

The contents of a report window may be exported to an ASCII text file, an RTF file, or HTML file.

This dialog box is displayed when you select the Export Command (File Menu) or select the Export button from a report window.
