To search for a text string in the articles in an open data file:

Select the Find button on the Toolbar.

OR Select the Find command from the Edit menu.

The Find dialog box is displayed.

Type the text string that you want to find in the Find What edit box.

From the Search Range box, select which articles to search.

You may search through all the articles in your data file, only the bookmarked articles, only the selected articles, only articles highlighted in the Titles column, or (if an Article Window is the current window) just the current article.

From the Search box, select what areas of each article to search.

You may search through all text in each specified article or just through the content text or the title.

Select the Find button.

Personal Knowbase takes you to the first occurrence of the Find What string in the Search Range. You can move the Find dialog box anywhere on the screen to view the open Article Window better.

Continue selecting the Find button to find each successive occurrence of the Find What string.

Select the Close button to close the Find dialog box.

Note:To view a list of the articles containing your string without going to each successive occurrence, check the Show Only Titles box before selecting the Find button the first time. Then, the Index Window's Titles column displays a list of all articles containing the string.
