Find Dialog Box

Glossary  Return to Start

Searches for a specified text string in the current data file. Type the string you want to find in the Find What edit box and select the Find button to search the specified range of articles.

If the Search Range contains multiple articles (not Current Article), the program first searches the range for the articles containing the Find What string and displays the article titles in the Index Window's Titles column. Optionally, check the Show Only Titles box to only list the titles and not proceed to the next step of highlighting each occurrence of the string.

If the Search Range is Current Article or if the Show Only Titles box is not checked, each article in the range is then displayed in an Article Window, and the location of the Find What string is highlighted. Continue selecting the Find button to find each successive occurrence of the Find What string.

You may also specify a date range to restrict the results. If dates are specified without a Find What string, all articles in the date range are found.

This dialog box is displayed when you select the Find Command (Edit Menu).
