Preferences Dialog Box: Tools

Customizes general options that affect commands. These settings affect all data files. To save your settings, select the OK button.

This dialog box is displayed when you select the Preferences Command (File Menu).

Update Outdated Queries Automatically

If this box is checked and a change is made which may invalidate the results of a query, the query is automatically rerun (whenever possible) and the results redisplayed. Otherwise, the old results are left displayed, and the word Outdated appears in the column heading. For more information about queries, see About Queries and Logical Operations.

Spelling Options

This button accesses the Spelling Options dialog box, which specifies settings affecting the Check Spelling Command (Edit Menu). Options you can change include the main dictionary language, case sensitivity, doubled words, and options to ignore various types of words.
