Article Properties Dialog Box:  General

Displays information about the current article and allows you to specify settings for this article. To save your settings, select the OK button.

 

This dialog box is displayed when you select the Article Properties Command (Article Menu). To customize settings affecting all articles, use the Preferences Command (File Menu).

 

Article Information

 

Title

Shows the article title as of the last time the article was saved.

 

Date

Shows the article date and time as of the last time the article was saved. By default, the article date and time are set to the Created time. When the Automatically Update Article Dates box is checked from the File Properties Dialog Box (File Menu), they are set to the current date and time whenever the article is modified. You can edit this date and time to set them as desired.

 

Created

Shows the date and time when this article was first created.

 

Note:The creation date for any article created before version 3.0 is set to the article date as of the conversion to version 3.0. The creation time for pre-3.0 articles are set to 12:00 AM.

 

Modified

Shows the date and time when this article was last modified.

 

Length

Shows the current number of characters in the article.

 

Number of Hypertext Links

Shows the numbers of hypertext links in the text of this article.

 

Number of Attachments

Shows the numbers of attachments this article has.

 

Bookmark Symbol

If the article is bookmarked, the bookmark icon is shown.

 

Attachment Symbol

If the article has at least one attachment, the attachment icon is shown.

 

Reminder Symbol

If the article has a reminder, the reminder icon is shown.

 

Word Wrap

 

If this box is checked, the article text in this Article Window wraps so that all text is displayed. Otherwise, the text only appears on the next line after an Enter character. Turning off this option can be useful to force tables of data to appear in columns.

 

To set the Word Wrap property for all new articles in this data file, use the File Properties Command (File Menu).

 

Keep Title the Same as the First Line of Content

 

If this box is checked, the article's title changes whenever the first line of text in the article content changes. This keeps the title and the first line of content always the same.

 

Make Private

 

Check this box to password-protect this article.

 

If you have not previously specified a password for this file, when you check this box and select the OK button, you are prompted to create a password.

 

To set password protection for the entire data file, see the File Properties Command (File Menu).
