| To write information from Personal Knowbase articles to an external text file:

| Select the Export command from the File menu.
|
|
|
| The Export Articles Setup dialog box is displayed.
|
|
|
| From the Export Range box, select which articles to write to the file.
|
|
|
| You may export all the articles in your data file, only the tagged articles, the currently selected articles (if a list of articles is selected), or just the current article (if an Article Window is the current window).
|
|
|
| From the Export What box, make sure that Titles & Article Text is selected.
|
|
|
| To sort the articles by their article dates, select Dates from the Sort by box.
|
|
|
| If you leave Titles selected, the articles are sorted by their titles.
|
|
|
| Select the OK button.
|
|
|
| The Export dialog box is displayed.
|
|
|
| Use this dialog box to select the folder and name of the text file you want to write.
|
|
|
| Leave the option in the Save as Type box at Text Files.
|
|
|
| Select the OK button.
|
|
|
| The text file is now written to disk. Note that any font formatting in your articles is not exported to text files.
|
|
|
| Before exporting, you may want to change the header for the exported file. Select the File Properties command from the File menu to edit the Export Header.

| TIP: | To change the width of the lines in your exported text file, set the Line Length for Text Files option from the Export tab of the Preferences Dialog Box (File Menu).
