Glossary  Return to Start  Previous  Next

Displays or hides a pane below the Titles column in the Index Window.  This pane displays either the text of the article highlighted in the Titles column or the keywords of the articles highlighted in that column.  You can preview the article or keywords in this pane, but you cannot edit them.

Select whether to display the article text or keywords from the cascading menu.

Preview Pane options:

Show Article Content displays the text of the article currently highlighted in the Titles column.
Show Keywords displays the keywords of the article highlighted in the Titles column.  If multiple articles are highlighted, only the keywords which are common to all highlighted articles are shown.

The current option is checked.  To hide the Preview Pane, select the currently checked option again.  You can adjust the height of the pane by dragging the top edge up and down.

When keywords are displayed, you can drag keywords from the Preview Pane to the Selected column to get a list of other articles associated with those keywords.

To access this command quickly, select the Preview Pane button from the Tools Toolbar.

The keyboard shortcut F8 cycles through the three settings for this command: no Preview Pane, Show Article Content, and Show Keywords.
